Kilvaree Croft

Welcome to Kilvaree Croft

Kilvaree Croft is a working croft situated on the beautiful West coast of Scotland. It is home to the Kilvaree flock of Soay sheep, a primitive breed that are registered with the Rare Breeds Survival Trust and have recently been upgraded on the register from 'At Risk' to 'Priority'.

Using traditional techniques I use the wool to produce unique felt products. Traditional techniques are also used in producing replica ceramics- prehistoric styles of pottery from the Neolithic to the Iron Age and contemporary pieces; each piece is individually handcrafted.

On the left hand side of the page you will find three short films that follow the seasons and the changing landscape of the Croft. There is also lots more information on the sheep, felt products, pottery and music.

All proceeds from the sale of Kilvaree products which also includes the music are helping to preserve this very special breed of sheep.
